Welcome to visit the mill!
Vartorp mill is located where the river "Mörrumsån" flows into lake "Övrasjön", some 26 km north of Växjö. The fine old stone building from the 1860s is now completely restored and fully functioning. It is today owned by the City of Växjö.
The mill is powered by a waterwheel with the same dimensions as it had from 1860 to 1930. The newly renovated roller mill complete with a feeding and sifting system is used for grinding.
The Vartorp Mill Society, which from first (1st) of January 2009 has the right to use the mill, aims to preserve the mill and demonstrate its function by grinding wheat, rye and spelt of good quality.
The mill is approved as a food producer, by the public health board.
 

Herzlich Willkommen zu einem Besuch unserer Mühle in Vartorp!
Die Mühle von Vartorp liegt ca. 26  km nördlich von Växjö  an der Mündung des Mörrumsåns in den Övrasjö. Das schöne alte Steingebäude von 1860  ist komplett renoviert und voll funktionstüchtig. Heute ist die Mühle im Besitz der Gemeinde Växjö.
Die Mühle wird von einem Wasserrad angetrieben welches das gleiche Maß hat wie in den Jahren 1860-1930. Zum Mahlen wird heute eine neu renovierte Walzenmühle mit dazugehörigem Befüllungs- und Mahlsystem benutzt.
Der "Vartorp Mühlenverein", welcher seit dem 1. Januar 2009 das Nutzungsrecht für die Mühle hat, sieht es als sein Ziel an die Mühle zu erhalten und zu zeigen, wie man noch heute nach herkömmlicher Methode Mehl von guter Qualität mahlen kann.
Heutzutage wird hier noch Weizen, Roggen und Dinkel gemahlen. Die Mühle ist ein geprüfter Lebensmittelproduzent!
